02/01/02 Up at 6:45 a.m. Darlin' is already gone doing updates. He's back around lunchtime. JCAD and The Back Way are caught up to date. Thanks, Darlin' I sure do apprecite that! So glad to finally see the sunshine today after many cloudy days. 02/02/02 Now how's that for numbers? Lots of folks on the TV talking about it. Darlin' driving me down to the library at Osage Beach this morning. Got new reading material, school books for Marty and got to get online with the computer. Vicky and Maggie are always nice. (See, you're in The Back Way!) Patron at the library was talking about how many eagles she had just seen at Bagnell Dam. Beautiful sunshine out but we still have cold winds. Hey, it's February, bundle up and come enjoy it! It's warmer out now, it's up to 38! 02/08/02 Woke up with the clock. So nice to see the sunshine coming through our windows! Great breakfast and Marty is off to school. Darlin' is busy computing. Supposed to warm up to the high 40's today! Got out my jars of vintage seeds and going through them to see what colors to grow this year. We have no dirt here, all the edibles are grown in pots. We have a nice compost pile turning into black gold. We also have some nice gravel out front that me make into a Japanese rock garden, it's constantly changing. All my cactus get planted down below the bottom flower bed, nice moss patch beside it and my daughter's relocated rocks all around it. There I grow many colors of iris, peonies, lilies, jonquils and narcissus. No matter how hot it gets outside on a summer day, there is always a cool breeze here. I collect heirloom flower and vegetable seeds, do you? 02/09/02 After dark, Darlin' saw a bright streak of lightning! I heard the loud thunder. Thunder in February, frost in May, is how the old saying goes! We sure did enjoy the nice rain. 02/10/02 Wonderful morning. Getting darker out instead of lighter as the day goes on. Cloudy, and the thermometer says it's up to 40 degrees, but the winds are gusty and cold. The outside wind chimes were ringing steady all day. 02/14/02 Happy Valentine's Day! Woke up to a beautiful velvet card and red rose in the kitchen! Thanks Darlin! Him and Marty got their cards and chocolate! Marty is not feeling good, has terrible cough. He's out of school today. Wonderful sunshine coming through the window as I write this. Glad to say Marty's feeling better as we had our Valentine's feast of southern fried chicken, real smashed potatoes, salad and homemade biscuits and of course gravy. And then Darlin' had a slice of his chocolate pie! Ok, so now you're full from reading! Hope you had a great day, too! 02/17/02 So glad to have that 'ol Sarah over to visit. She slept nicely on the couch. She's getting to be such a big girl and can now take words and make them into sentences! Daughters, Jesse and Robin over for a nice visit! They got Sarah outside and we all got some good pictures! Sarah is crazy about her Aunties! Wonderful sunshine and 60 degrees here today! Hope you come see the back way in Central Missouri for yourself soon! 02/27/02 Happy 24th Anniversary Darlin'...I'm telling the world, I love you madly!! Thanks for all the wonderful years of our riding around checking out the back way! Let's do many more together! |
