Cloudy out, 40's sun trying to shine. Hon's talking about all the parts and pieces we need for our car. We do drive it a lot. The lake is beautiful as we crossed the Grand Glaize Bridge. Traffic is heavy as it's so nice out. The sun is now shining! Into Camdenton, MO, population 2,561. Turned left at Hwy 5 South at the square. Busy down Hwy 5, lots of business. Crossed Goodwin Hollow Creek. Lots of farmland and many varieties of beef cattle graze on the hills. Lebanon sure has grown since I first came here back in 1977. We bought our baby chickens from Cackle Hatchery here. A nice family run business and a treat in the springtime for the entire family! We always stop at Mike's before we get into town! Get yourself a Mississippi Mud ice cream sandwich! Lebanon, population 9,983 Nice two lane roads, friendly people in Laclede County. Right before you get to the first red light, Annie's Flea Market is on the right. Had a fun visit with Annie, gotta pet the cat! Took Commercial Street to old Route 66 now called Hwy W, the back way. Hwy C and then you have to get out on the big Hwy (I-44) to Conway 4 miles ahead. Exit on Hwy J, left towards Conway, population, 629. Stopped on North Jefferson by the Post Office at Old Time Antiques and Collectables. Had to stop by and see Doc Holiday at his WONDERFUL store in Phillipsburg. We're gonna get him on JCAD yet! Sign says Bear Lady? Watch out, Hwy C & PP split apart, be ready for that corner! Saw sign for Gospel Music Barn, show tonight! Road curved and we stayed straight ahead onto Ostrich, went thru by Washington Church. Road recently paved and drivers are happy. The fields are starting to turn green. Joe maneuvered around a hole about the size of a washtub. Heading on back towards Lebanon. Hwy C runs along I-44. Wonderful road to take. Joe says he knows why they call it Ostrich Hill. Always stretching your neck to see over that little hill!
