03/11/00 We received 10 inches of wonderful, soft snow last night. Had to sweep our way out the door to get out to the Toyota! Everything is beautiful! Loaded up the truck and off we go West towards Nevada. Have an invitation to attend an Elk 100 year celebration. We're proud to be on our way! Of course, we had to mix business with pleasure! Passed out many JCAD brochures to all the antique stores on the way! Found unique roads to travel, the cedar trees are unbelievably pretty! We have cold temperatures, 30's, but the sun is peeking out now. It's a winter wonderland! Get out and enjoy it, the snow is melting fast! 03/14/00 Blue skies as we head towards Richland. Been so long since we've been down to visit with Elmer and Katherine. The creeks are running nicely, saw many hawks sitting on the power poles and top branches of trees. The tree limbs all have tiny buds starting to form. I love springtime! Had a nice ride down, there's the store! I always enjoy looking at the buffalo next door. Here we are at Fleas R Us. Had a wonderful visit with Katherine. So glad to hear that Elmer's Mom is now living in Missouri. Know she will really enjoy it! Got to pass out JCAD brochures to all the customers and dealers we met there today. This store has changed so much! Each booth is full of surprises! Darlin' got some great pictures, I wrote down lots of stuff we've never seen before. Away we go, down to visit with other stores in the area, left JCAD brochures and had a good time on the back way home. 03/19/00 On our way home from Kansas City, well, I guess technically, Independence, MO. Had a GREAT 3 days at the MO Elks Spring Convention. We got to play on the way home. Passed out over 150 brochures to folks in Northwest Missouri that were on-line. They were thrilled to get the brochures, can't wait until they come see the site on-line! The store owners were asking, "Are we in there?" and I had to say, "No, not yet!" ha ha But, they were kind enough to place our JCAD brochures next to their guestbook and registers. Thanks! We appreciate it! But going to KC, that's too far to travel for our area right now. Would love to travel in an RV and work 3 days at a time. That way we can work all the shows, do updates, pass out brochures and meet folks all over Missouri! This is my dream of the future! Take the family and stay awhile. Learned a new back way home, saw many new towns! Be safe! 3/27/00 Wonderful day out! Off we go to the city of Eldon to pass out brochures "Hot off the Presses" and I mean, literally! Robin and I were at Trade N Place. Be sure to stop by for their jam sessions every Saturday! On down to visit with Randy at Maple Street Emporium. Stopped by to visit with Lola at Past N Present and left some brochures. Glad to see her new puppy. Across the road to Blast from the Past. Gene is off teaching, new lady at the store. On over to visit with Alicia at Anita's Keepsake Kottage. Robin and I got to shop for a baby shower for our oldest daughter, Ray. GREAT items! GREAT prices! Loaded up the Toy with all our goodies, off we go the back way home! 3/31/00 Absolutely gorgeous out! Our children are having a yard sale today and tomorrow. Of course, all the customers get a JCAD brochure! Darlin' and I down to Kay's for breakfast. Got to visit with Don from Osage Beach Flea Market. He's a regular, too. When you come to Osage Beach, come hungry and come to Kay's. It's on Hwy 54 right by the light and water tower for Wal-Marts. All you can eat of some mighty fine home cooking! Tell 'em Joe and Cathy sent ya! Beautiful blue skies, got our cooler full of drinks and away we go. The redbuds are absolutely beautiful and in full bloom, glowing purple everywhere. So are the wild plums! Their white blooms dot the hillsides. New leaves are starting to grow! LOTS of traffic out today. Going the back way thru Frog Holler. Made a pit stop for gasoline and met Charles, a "fellow flea" that told us about the Wentzville community flea market. He's going there tomorrow and took some JCAD brochures with him to give away! Thanks, Charles, we appreciate it! It's hard to be in 2 places at once. Ordered new paper at Staples for our next brochure. Watch out for JCAD brochures in those bright spring colors! Get out and enjoy the beautiful sites and sounds as you travel the back way in Missouri. You're sure to have a good time! See you soon! |
