03/07/02 Must say Happy 75th Birthday to my Mom, Ollie Witcher, down in Georgia. I've enjoyed sharing your birthday all my life! I LOVE ya madly! Hope you read this online soon. 03/16/02 Here it is, the weekend we've all been waiting for! St. Patrick's Day parade in Lake Ozark on the strip. It's also the weekend for the Lake of the Ozarks Business Products and Services show. Our oldest daughter, Melinda Ray brought our granddaughter, Sarah, over to pick up Marty and I to go to the show. The traffic was heavy out on Hwy 54 as we headed West to Osage Beach. Turned left at Hwy 42, lots of folks out and about this busy day. Took in 50 JCAD brochures to pass out to dealers at the show. This show gets bigger and better each year. We had a great time, met lots of neat folks and got to say Hi to Nora and Zack from YHTI, our internet service provider. Signed up for lots of drawings. Sarah loved the balloons, we got bags of information from folks from all over Missouri. The show was a great success. Busy day, enjoyed taking Sarah to her first show! Thanks, Ray and Marty for going with me. The show is every March, be sure to try to attend next year! The beach is a great place for St. Pat's parade, free food, celebrations all over. It's a great back way adventure for the entire family! Mark your calendar and next year, maybe I'll get to give you a JCAD brochure in person! 03/25/02 Cloudy out this afternoon as my Darlin' and I head East on Hwy 54. This highway is under construction, looks like the new bridge is almost complete. Turned left onto Hwy 87 and headed towards the town of Eldon. Several yards are all decorated for Easter. Bunny flags and Easter eggs in trees. Today is Monday, but we have Anita's Keepsake Kottage on our minds. Went by and Anita is in the store today to pick up a few things. She was kind enough to let us in, on her day off, to let us take our photographs. So happy to hear Alicia's family is doing well. Have not had a chance to meet the newest son, yet. Our best to them all. Darlin' got great update materials, off we to downtown to Maple Street. Yes, we got to have a great visit with Gene at Blast From the Past! This man finds the most unique collectibles items. This store has merchandise literally from the floor to the ceiling. A huge vintage ice box now sits in the middle isle. I've never gotten to see the back of one of these before to see where the blocks of ice got loaded. Gene said it took 3 folks to get it inside the store! I really liked the wild turkey, they did a good job of stuffing it. We had a nice visit as always. It's a pleasure to shop here. We headed home when the camera was full. It's still a misty, rainy day, but spring is in the air. The first jonquils are starting to bloom. I'm ready for spring, how about you? Thanks for riding along with us on this back way adventure. Hope you get to come visit our beautiful lake area soon. 03/30/02 Our youngest daughter, Robin, has been wanting a computer ever since she moved out on her own. We told her about the great deals we have seen at OBFM. So today, her and Brian came to get Marty to go with them. He's her little brother, but he's great with computers as he helps his Dad rebuild, install and troubleshoot. He also took our camera along so he can take photographs for our JCAD update. He's been our photographer on several occasions, he's traveled to all our JCAD stores with his Dad since I've been injured. So, on this really nice sunny Saturday, they're off on a mission. If you look at the update for Osage Beach Flea Market on JCAD, you'll see a picture of them talking to the store owner, Don. They were mighty happy when they came back. Marty had a camera full of new photographs and Robin had her a new computer. They took Marty home to spend the night and get everything up and going. They had already bought neat games to install. This was a lovely day to get out and about. You can find the Osage Beach Flea Market on Hwy 42. As you turn onto 42 from Hwy 54, Lowe's will be on your left and OBFM is on your right. Watch for their driveway and enjoy traveling the back way. We hope you come to our area soon. The welcome mat is always out! |
