04/02/01 Spring is in the air! I love it! Got the latest JCAD newsletter off by e-mail to all the JCAD members. Did not want to send it on April Fools Day! ha ha How do you like the new format for JCAD? Less talk and larger pictures. I love it. Write us an e-mail and let us know what you think! Missouri is beautiful today with all the red bud trees blooming, everything turning green, the tree leaves are growing as you watch! Traveled all day with my Darlin' passing out the latest brochures. Just soaking up the scenery and did not write on my clipboard! Didn't even bring it! Can you believe that? Enjoyed the day and the back way home. Hope you enjoyed it, too! 04/05/01 Cloudy out and warm as we head West on Hwy 54. Stopped at the bank and then the car wash. Poor Toyota was plumb nasty after running the neighborhood the last 2 days in the mud. Looks much better now! Thanks Darlin'! The sun is shining now and we see a car from Illinois heading down towards Bagnell Dam. The ladies inside look like shopping women to me! Mentioned that I'd love to give them a brochure and they pulled over to the side of the road in front of us. They were turning around, so we pulled in, too. I walked over and gave them a JCAD brochure! They said they were happy to get it! I love my job!! I love working for "Joe and Cathy", I enjoy travelin' with my Darlin' and I enjoy meeting all the folks in all the stores we go to. Today we've been passing out JCAD brochures to all the tourist centers. Headed on around the lake to see the west side. Lots of new businesses, motels and resorts. Of course, they all got JCAD brochures. Along Highway 5 looks so different, even a new bridge in the works. Stopped at all the antique stores and visited with everyone. Good to see them again. Do be sure to stop by and visit with the 2 new stores in Gravois (Mills). Wonderful items and friendly folks. I'm not joking! Please be sure to tell 'em Joe and Cathy sent you. I'd love to have their stores on our web site and in our brochures. Thanks! Now we're heading home as the sun is setting. The redbud trees are absolutely gorgeous. So are all the lilac bushes this year. We've seen many, many lilac blooms and they smell so good! The back way is purple today! Get out and enjoy the ride! Be safe! 04/21/01 Cloudy out and lots of traffic as we head West on Hwy 54. Love to see all the tags from other states: Kansas, Iowa, California, Nevada, Arkansas and even Mississippi! Welcome to the Lake of the Ozarks! Have a GREAT time while you are here. Darlin' and I are busy passing out JCAD brochures. Darlin' has been printing last night, I folded this morning! Now, that's current! Today is Saturday and we're on a mission. To make sure all these folks can find out antique information now and on-line later. We stopped at all the motels and hotels here at the Lake of the Ozarks. It's wonderful, the brochures go so quickly. Even out speaking to business owners about being a Sponsor on the JCAD web page and brochures. Always drumming up business. Then a BIG THANKS to daughters Jesse and Robin for the great lunch for Darlin', Marty and myself at Vista Grande and then down to the mall to see the funny movie "Joe Dirt". What a great afternoon! Wonderful to spend time with family, enjoy some laughs and enjoy the beautiful day. That's what it's all about. The dogwood trees are now in bloom and the woods along the highway are full of them. They are glowing white in the late afternoon sun. Enjoying the beautiful sunset as we head the back way home. Gave 'em all away, so now Darlin' is back to printing. We're only an e-mail away. 04/26/01 Beautiful sunshine out today and I head East on Hwy 54. Lots of brochures to pass out. I'm driving, so there won't be much writing! ha ha Met lots of nice folks and everyone collects something different. It's amazing. My Darlin' is adding counters to each of my "Back Way" months. It will be interesting to see what is being read. He recently added counters to all the pictures on each JCAD store page. It's fun to see what folks are looking for! I must say that Mid-Missouri is in bloom. The dogwood trees have been really pretty this year. All the trees have new leaves in so many shades of green. Hopefully, the cold spells at night are over for the gardeners. Hope you get to come to the Lake of the Ozarks area to visit and to play. Lots of wonderful antique stores and flea markets to choose from. Print out a brochure so you won't miss any JCAD members! Have a safe trip. |
