Up early, Darlin' has been up quite a while out working on the brushes for the alternator on the Toyota. Him and Marty worked on it most of the day. It's nice, when our neighbors see our truck hood up, they stop by and see if we need any help. Had visits from 6 different neighbors today! Thanks! It's a nice day out, clothes drying out on the line. As the sun was setting, the Toyota got fired up and it works! Yeah! Yippee! Yahoo! Thanks Darlin' and Marty!

Really nice blue sky with tiny white clouds up high as we head East on Hwy 54. Darlin' has been burning a CD this morning for all his JCAD updates, newsletter and billing and we're off to town for him to do updates. We also had to stop by for our flu shots. I'll be so glad to be feeling better and able to run JCAD routes again. I miss it terribly. I miss writing all the back way tales and the travel. All my stories now are much closer to home. Hope you like reading about them, too. It was a really pretty sunset this evening, hope you got to enjoy it!

Marty and I have been working on making our homemade Christmas cards for many days now. Our list gets longer each year. He's been working on these during art class each day. Darlin' has created a snowy, country scene on the computer, we've printed it out and added it to the inside cover on each card. We're also working on a CD this year of 635 pictures of our family to send to each of my parents in Georgia for a present. Each of our children have written stories telling about the event to go along with their pictures. We have the entire Back Way on each CD and the King James version of the Bible on them, too. We've been working on these CD's for several weeks, now. Darlin' has completed burning the CD's and I'm wrapping them today. Marty and Darlin' have gone to town and came home and Marty has a haircut! His hair was long and beautiful when he left, now it's short and so black and shiny! Looks good, I'm glad he's happy about it!

Have all our traveling cards and CD's wrapped, packed and ready to go out in the U.S. Mail today. Off after Marty's spelling test to head West on Hwy 54 to Osage Beach to get all these goodies off in the mail. YEAH! It's a cloudy day out with sprinkles of rain now and then. Down Hwy 42 to Osage Beach Flea Market for Darlin' to get a new update. I got to visit with Don and Mickey Mouse. Darlin' got some great pictures and I got to meet folks as they checked out. The whole town is decked out in Christmas lights and Christmas music playing really gets you in a festive mood. The whole country is celebrating life, freedom and being close to family members, loved ones and friends this year. The terrible tragedy has brought us all closer together. It's so important, we've got to live in peace. To borrow from Tiny Tim, God bless us everyone. That's the mood in Osage Beach, Missouri today.

Been cloudy for many days, haven't seen the sunshine all week! Made up a few baskets for our neighbors in need, have all our local Christmas cards, our daughters, Jesse and Robin over to help us deliver. Marty rode with them as it's too cold to ride in the back of the Toyota. Got to do a complete Miss Helper! run and deliver Christmas cards and gifts to our friends and neighbors. Had to stop and visit a while with each one to see how they are doing. We really enjoyed all the visits and hugs! We would get out at each stop, singing Christmas carols at the top of our lungs, this loud noise brought out all our neighbors and friends. Mighty cold out, but warm hearts. To me, this is what Christmas is all about.

Children came to kidnap us all, down to the Christmas party at their work. Then, thanks to my Mom, we all got to go to the movies at the Factory Outlet Mall. We had front row seats to watch Lord of the Rings. It was as good as the books. We were very pleased and enjoyed the show very much. Can't wait for the next movie to come out! Must get our paperbacks out and read up on the next adventure! Lots of folks at the movies and the mall is packed with last minute shoppers! Welcome to our Lake of the Ozarks! Enjoy!

Happy 19th Birthday Robin Anna! This girl has happily been traveling the back way all her life!

Merry Christmas! Happy Birthday Jesus! Our children started arriving at 5:00 a.m. with lots of singing, laughing and joking! The poor Toyota is all frozen over as it's 15 degrees out with a mighty stiff wind. Loaded up the Toyota with gifts and food and we're off to son-in-law's house to share our happiness with Dave, Ray and Sarah. Great fun, fabulous homemade breakfast, we even had a seedless watermelon, now if that doesn't beat all! Surrounded by so much happiness, the very best Christmas we've had in years! Hope your family has a very Merry Christmas, too!
